HEAD OF THE PRINCELY HOUSE OF ISENBURG DEAD

May 5, 2018, Prince Franz Alexander of Isenburg (1941-2018), the head of the medieval Princely House of Isenburg, died at the age of 74 years in Birstein, Germany. Prince Franz Alexander of Isenburg was born in 1943 and was the only son of Franz Ferdinand (1901-1956), Prince of Isenburg, and Countess Irina Tolstaya (1917-1998).

In 1968, Prince Franz Alexander of Isenburg married the Countess Christine von Saurma (born 1941), they had five children - two sons and three daughters. The youngest daughter, Princess Sophie of Isenburg, in 2011 became the wife of Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, Head of the Royal House of Prussia.

Prince Alexander of Isenburg (born 1969), the eldest son of Prince Franz Alexander, became the new Head of the Princely House of Isenburg.
